Technology ‘useful for UK holidays’
Tourists on UK holidays could find technology useful.
Technology could be useful for those who book UK holidays.
This is the view of Yolanda Copes-Stepney, destination PR officer for VisitEngland, who said planning trips and working out timings is now easier than it has ever been.
“It is great for finding ways to save money and planning a great itinerary,” she said.
Ms Copes-Stepney admitted that the amount of information that is out there can sometimes appear to be “overwhelming”, although she pointed out mobile phone applications mean can now be accessed at any time.
She explained some of the details that can be found using apps of this kind can be crucial when it comes to planning a day out.
“Things like telephone numbers, email addresses [and] opening times,” remarked Ms Copes-Stepney.
“The last thing you want to do is go somewhere and it is closed.”
She was commenting on the release of the new Enjoy England App from the organisation, which allows tourists taking trips in the country to upload suggestions for others.
This will mean there is a level of interactivity, as users will be able to go to places on the advice of other travellers who have enjoyed a particular venue.
“Id encourage people to [do this] if they feel particularly proud of their area and know there is something theyd like people to visit,” said Ms Copes-Stepney.
The destination PR officer for VisitEngland recently advised people planning their summer breaks to consider taking a trip to the Cotswolds, due to attractions such as its famous tea shops, museums and places to walk.
