NCC: Caravan holidays ideal for families
Caravans can offer holidaymakers a fun break that is great value for money.
Families keen to head on an enjoyable break should consider a caravan holiday.
Louise Wood, spokeswoman for the National Caravan Council (NCC), suggests this is an “excellent option” for those with kids because they provide great value for money and allow the little ones to explore.
Many sites are aimed at children and will put on entertainment, sports and other games to interest youngsters of all ages, she says.
When asked to recommend specific locations, Ms Wood suggests Dorset or East Anglia, as well as the Yorkshire coast.
“Anywhere that youve got good facilities, things to do and nice sandy beaches – youre going to find good caravan parks, because theres a couple of thousand in the UK so youve got plenty of choice,” the representative adds.
Wildlife tends to be present in abundance at many resorts, as the owners like to attract different species such as birds or bats to entertain visitors.
But travel insurance policyholders and others who would rather stay indoors in the comfort of a caravan should be pleased to hear that many options are of great quality.
A common misconception is that the vehicles are cramped and have poor facilities, but this is no longer true.
Ms Wood claims many caravan holiday homes are “absolutely luxurious” and have en suite bathrooms, flatscreen TVs and other added extras to impress holidaymakers.
Those who do not own a tourer for themselves could consider a static caravan, with many sites around the country – as well as across Europe – offering this option at a reasonable fee.
