Discover impressive nature on Australian holidays

Tags: Holidays

Australia has a wealth of nature for visitors to explore, says a travel writer.

Those who like to explore nature during their holidays should consider a break to Australia.

According to WhyGo Australia travel writer Brooke Shoenman, the country is “a nature-lovers dream” because of the vast variety of sights to see.

“There are lush, green jungles, Mars-like red outback, pristine, world-famous golden sand beaches, deserts of dunes and nothingness,” he says.

Uluru – formerly known as Ayers Rock – is one of the key spots that many travel insurance policyholders and others head to.

It has a spiritual feel to it and is set in the Northern Territory outback, which is known for its sacred roots.

Tourists who like a bit more activity during their breaks could head to the Great Barrier Reef to snorkel or dive through the famous coast.

Other options are to go to Fraser Island, which is “crawling with dingos” and has plenty more wildlife to see, says Ms Schoenman.

In order to get around the area, holidaymakers will need a four-wheel-drive vehicle, as the terrain is almost impossible to navigate otherwise.

Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and the Olympic Stadium are all on offer in one of the countrys best-known cities, while Melbourne also has plenty of trendy places to go, Ms Schoenman adds.

Rodney Harrex, general manager for the UK and northern Europe at Tourism Australia, recently claimed Britons have a “love affair” with the nation, because it has so much to offer them.

Kangaroo Island, Ningaloo Reef and Tasmania are all listed as some of the alternative destinations to see.
